Mr. William “Tommy” Pugh, 87, of Phenix City, AL passed away Sunday, June 1, 2025, at the Bethany House in Auburn, AL.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Friday, June 6, 2025 at Ladonia Baptist Church in Phenix City, AL with Rev. Greg Hyche and Rev. Matt Hawkins officiating according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday morning from 10:00 until 11:00 am, one hour prior to the service, at the church.

Mr. Pugh was born on July 9, 1937 in Brundidge, AL son of the late James M. Pugh and Addie Bell McLendon Pugh. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. After his service in the Navy, he spent most of his career in the insurance industry. Mr. Pugh, along with his brother, owned and operated Pugh Insurance Agency, Inc. for over 40 years. He enjoyed traveling and being outdoors. Mr. Pugh had a passion for SEC football and was a big Alabama fan. Above all he loved spending time with his friends and family. He was a member of Ladonia Baptist Church during his youth but has been a member of Crawford Baptist Church for many years. Additionally, Mr. Pugh was a Gideon and a long time member of the Wilson Williams Masonic Lodge.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Jeanette Ming Pugh; as well as three brothers, James Ted Pugh, Terry Martin Pugh and Travis A. Pugh, Sr.

He is survived by three children, Tammy Jeanette Pugh McAlister and husband Bobby, Trina Lee Pugh Watford and husband Tony and Tommy J. Pugh and wife Jaime, all of Phenix City, AL; a brother, Tillman M. Pugh and wife Caroline; five grandchildren, Robert J. McAlister, Tatum S. Watford Thompson and husband Bryant M., Tommy J. Pugh II, Hogan L. Pugh, and Ashlind M. Pugh; a great-grandchild, Braxtyn M. Thompson; a loving companion, Vera Burton; as well as, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
